Choice Board
INTRODUCTION
I developed this choice board as a visual aid to facilitate communication of a client's preferred activities within his day program. This tool promotes communication, offers visual cues of available activities, and fosters independent daily decision-making.
SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT
In creating this visual tool, I initially interviewed day program staff and sent questionnaires to the client to ascertain preferences and daily schedules. The deliberate use of larger images and spaced-out letters addresses the client's difficulty reading small, densely packed text. By presenting choices before activities start, the aim is to enhance focus, participation, and smooth transitions between activities.

This project demonstrates my proficiency in Facilitating Growth and Development by creating a supportive tool tailored to the client's needs. Additionally, it showcases skills in Advocacy by promoting communication and autonomy. Furthermore, it underscores my ability to Build Relationships by collaborating with both program staff and the client to ensure effective implementation of the choice board.
