I will be graduating again!!! 😱
Have you ever been terrified at the thought of starting something completely new? Perhaps traveling solo, leaving home behind for a foreign land, learning how to drive, returning to school in your late twenties, or building new friendships and fitting in? That initial leap is often the toughest. We fret, we worry. It's nerve-wracking, and the stress can be overwhelming.
Yet, that first step is also the most crucial and vulnerable. Here we stand, presenting our best selves, unsure how the world will receive us. But therein lies the beauty of taking that initial stride - it familiarizes us with the ground we tread, gradually leading us to travel it with ease.
I've lost count of the times I've hesitated, stumbled, and shed tears, wondering if I could even muster the courage to start on this journey. But you know what? I've adopted a mantra, a quote from George Eliot: "It is never too late to be who you might have been." This resonates deeply, reminding me that my potential for personal growth knows no bounds, irrespective of age or circumstances.
The human experience is marked by our capacity for evolution. Our paths are not predetermined; our choices and actions shape them. Every day presents an opportunity for renewal, reinvention, and pursuing our deepest passions.
I took that difficult first step of packing my bags and relocating to a foreign land, starting afresh in Canada and continuing my education at 26. It wasn't a smooth ride; it was fraught with tears, self-doubt, and countless prayers for strength.
But in hindsight, I'm grateful for that initial leap because, without it, I wouldn't have had the chance to prove to myself that I could do it and complete my two-year school program here in Canada. Without taking that first step, I'd always be haunted by the 'what ifs.'
As I reflect on what happened in my life over the past two years, I realize that every stumble, tear, and moment of doubt was worth it. Through those challenges, I discovered my strength, resilience, and capacity for growth. Taking that first step not only changed my life but also enabled me to impact the lives of others positively.
So here's to embracing uncertainty, daring greatly, and never underestimating the power of that first step. May it lead us to places of growth, fulfillment, and profound connection. And may we always remember that within every beginning lies the potential for a remarkable journey.
